At last we can tell you about our collaboration with the University of Exeter and Naia Trust, to develop a postgraduate programme on Contemporary Animism, taking the work of Animate Earth into academia. The world’s-first accredited programme that weaves together science, psychology and traditional wisdom with embodied practice and lived experience – starting September 2027.

Educating For Animism
Relationality and Participation in the More-Than-Human World

What would education look like if we considered ourselves to be participants in a world where plants, animals, rivers and mountains were sentient beings with whom we are in relationship?
Is it possible to train ourselves to listen to the wider web of life and participate in the ‘common wild tongue’ of all things? Could we actively involve other voices in our more-than-human discourse, our decision-making and the way we understand our place and purpose in the world? What actions would we take, how would we choose to live, if we understood the land and the other beings we live with, to be as intelligent and responsive as ourselves?
